Cory Arrambide vence Oakley Pro Junior patrocinado pela Heritage Surf and Sport

SEA ISLE CITY, New Jersey (30 de agosto de 2008, sábado) – Cory Arambide (Ventura, CA), 19 anos, recebeu hoje seu segundo título do Oakley Pro Junior patrociado pela Heritage Surf and Sport. Arrambide venceu o surfista local Rob Kelly (Ocean City, NJ), 18 anos, Nat Young (Santa Cruz, CA), 17 anos, e Trevor Saunders (San Clemente, CA), 18 anos, em condições de 1 metro esta tarde em Sea Isle City, New Jersey. A Associação dos Surfistas Profissionais (ASP) norte-americana Pro Junior Grade-2 marca a conclusão da 7ª de 10 competições na série.
Com apenas três competições faltando, os tops da ASP North America Pro Junior estão tentando dar o melhor de si e segurar seus lugares no Billabong World Junior Championships organizado em Narrabeen, Austrália no início de cada ano. Os 5 primeiros do ASP North America Pro Junior no fim do ano terão a chance de mostrar seus talentos contra os melhores competidores juniors mundiais para uma chance de ganhar o ASP World Junior Champion.
Arrambide, que ganhou o evento ano passado e estava na frente desde o início da competição, aumentou sua vantagem com sua vitória esta tarde. A vitória de hoje marcou sua terceira vitória consecutiva. Young foi classificado em 4º lugar no ASP North America Pro Junior Series, entrando no evento e sendo elevado a 3º posição depois de sua pontuação final hoje, enquanto Kelly foi o primeiro surfista local a competir a final em seis anos de história do evento.
